USA and India Relationship

India has not criticized Russia over the invasion of Ukraine and has maintained a neutral stance on the issue. According to The Diplomat, India’s stance on the Ukraine war reflects the tremendous domestic public support that Russia enjoys compared to the United States. The United States and India have a strategic partnership that is based on shared democratic values and increasing convergence of interests on bilateral, regional and global issues. According to the US Department of State, the partnership between the two countries has been strengthened in recent years through increased cooperation in defense, counterterrorism, trade and investment, energy security, environment and health.
